2023 JOHN ROSS ROBERTSON CHAMPIONSHIP

2023 JOHN ROSS ROBERTSON CHAMPIONSHIP

Upcoming weekend, August 12 and 13, 2023, four champion provincial teams will be vying for the coveted John Ross Robertson Trophy tournament being held in Regina, Saskatchewan. It has been a decade since the last regular season JRRT was held in Saskatchewan. Since then, the sport of cricket has grown leaps and bounds in this sunny prairie province.

This year, we would see the 2022 Sask ODP champions, Cavaliers ICE, and runner’s up, Regina Strykers joining Alberta winners, Ginny Memorial Sports Academy, and Manitoba champions, Cosmos Cricket Club, fighting it out for the coveted trophy.

The Cavaliers play their first match with Ginny, who has previous experience playing in this trophy. However, ICE has a bunch of youngsters along with experienced players, with the fitness standards any coach would envy. They will also be boosted by the return to form of a few of their main players. It will be a battle to watch out for. Please come and see them in action at Douglas Park on Saturday, August 12.
